School Community Councils
Being part of the School Community Council (SCC) is a valuable way to get involved, share your voice, and represent the community in important school decisions. In partnership with school administration, the SCC reviews achievement data, identifies academic needs, and contributes to school improvement efforts. The council also develops the annual School LAND Trust Plan and other academic plans that support student success. Councils act in an advisory capacity to the school and district administrators.
All parents are welcome to attend School Community Council meetings and give input, although only council members may vote. For more information on School Community Councils, visit the School LAND Trust website.
Council Member Qualifications
Councils are composed of parent members and school employees. Membership terms are for two years. Parent members must have a student attending the school for at least one of the two years of their term of service. Employees must be employed by the school district at the school.
Council Member Elections
SCC elections for open seats occur at the beginning of the school year (August/September). Election information will be posted here. If you are interested in joining the School Community Council, please contact the school principal for information on how to apply.
