Remote Learning Update!

Remote Learning Update: Starting Monday, March 2nd, Murray High is moving to synchronous learning for our teachers and students. This means that our teachers are going to start using Zoom to deliver live instruction during class time. Our teachers have been informed that they are to have a Zoom link posted in each of their classes and that students will be required to attend those live Zoom lecture sessions. We have asked teachers to keep these lectures from 15 min to 30 min. maximum. That will allow students time to work on their assignments after that 30 min. Teachers may choose to leave their Zoom's open during class time for them to ask questions, get help or connect. Student attendance will move from just doing their work, like this week has been, to actively participating in the Zoom lesson with the teacher. Our teachers are looking forward to connecting with their students, even if it will be virtually for the next 2 weeks. Murray will continue to follow the A/B Bell schedule going into next week. Please have students follow the attached bell schedule for their classes.
Please remind your students to login to Canvas, each day, and follow that schedule. Zoom links will be provided on each classes Canvas page under the "Announcements" tab.
It is possible that over the next 2 weeks we have teachers who may be absent on a specific day. When this happens, we have asked teachers to post pre-recorded content along with their assignments in Canvas. Teachers will monitor who engages in that content and update the attendance as necessary. This means it may take a day for that attendance to be update in Aspire.
School wide announcements will be sent via Parent Square as well as the MHS Info Canvas Course that every student has access to.
Thank you for our continued support as we navigate remote learning. More information will come out next week as we continue to push forward to 3/16!
Kindly,
MHS Administration
