Dear Parents,Guardians and Students,

Welcome back to Murray High School. We are excited to see you. Below you will find a link to Murray High’s School Wide Disclosure. This Disclosure discusses some of the main policies and procedures at Murray High as well as general school information. This disclosure is used in every classroom and all faculty, staff and students are guided by it. The School Wide Disclosure does not have every district or school policy (those are found at our website: https://mhs.murrayschools.org).

Our School Wide Disclosure contains some updates to our FLEX class and the new Murray High Cell Phone Policy. We are asking all parents and students to read through those policies so they understand exactly what those are. Both the Flex update and the new Cell Phone Policy will be discussed in Flex class in our first week back and in our class assemblies with the administration. Reminder: All students must attend Flex from August 19th-26th. This includes all Seniors and any potential Senior opting out of Flex. Here is a very quick glance at the changes:

Flex:

0-9 Absences = “A”
10-14 Absences = “P”
15+ Absences = “F”

Students MUST key in before 7:55am. If they key in to Flex after 7:55 they will be marked as a WAY LATE which will count in their attendance total for the quarter.

No “U”s will be given for Flex attendance, but you can receive a Behavioral “U”  for poor conduct.

Cell Phone Policy:

Murray High will be implementing pouches in all classrooms at Murray High. These are zipped pouches that students must put their phones in during class time. Please take the time to review the new policy and the consequences for not following this policy. Our teachers have made it clear: Cell phones have created a major issue during instruction. Murray High, in conjunction with its faculty and staff, school community council and district leadership, plan to take these steps to help reduce cell phone use during classroom instruction. Parents, we are asking for your full support and help as we partner to limit cell phone use in class.

We look forward to a fantastic school year.

Kindly,

MHS Administration
